15.Oct.2008 Baking Tuesday

Unfortunately when you are bored (for a long time) you start to realise that instead of waiting for things to pop out appearing interesting enough to do, you have to go find them.

And I found my calling for the day. (Largely inspired from reading about breadalongs.)

Baking.

Looks yummy, aye? It’s Banana Bread…. of sorts. I fumbled some parts of the recipe, like mashing bananas and stirring them into the batter instead of cutting them and placing them on top. How weird that would be. I think.

And 3 hours later, look! It’s almost half gone. I wonder if it’ll be all finished by Friday.

Oh, and about that breadalong, here’s a lousy pic of my chef. *grins

Is it possible to feel slightly drunk from smelling the alcohol all the tiny littlest yeasts are making? And.. Was I supposed to open it? Or should I have left the cap on until it was time to feed the little chef? Hmm…

And I dyed some yarn today! I finally got off my lazy ass (in every sense of the word) and picked up the 3 languishing skeins of sock yarn that I’d gotten I can’t remember when. Unfortunately, since the first time I dyed, I’d forgotten that dyeing makes your hands… icky.

Luckily I have my finished Merletto Mitts to cover up the worst of ‘em.

And I’ve knitted er.. about 3, 4 more repeats of my Victorian Lace Shawl! :)

And that’s it for today. A day of lectures tomorrow!
